
Alphil Guilaran is the Co-Founder of Financial Literacy Counsel (FLC), a boutique financial education and planning company “building financially literate generations.” Founded in 1999, FLC serves the needs of family offices, corporations, professional associations, and institutions.
Alphil teaches financial literacy with a unique emphasis on helping leaders and their families get their financial houses in order, as well as training wealth inheritors to be financially responsible stewards and owners.
Before founding FLC, he graduated from the University of British Columbia and began his career at CIBC World Markets and RBC Capital Markets. Alphil is a Certified Family Business Advisor and Certified Family Wealth Advisor through the Family Firm Institute, as well as a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). He is also an Advisor with LGA (Lansberg Gersick Advisors), a global professional advisory firm that supports the world’s leading family enterprises in succeeding from generation to generation. This experience is complemented by a history of coaching and mentoring students, as well as volunteer work as a past board member for Focus Foundation, Hope for the Nations, Cooking for a Cause, and City in Focus.
Alphil lives in Vancouver, Canada, with his wife, Krystle, and their two amazing children.
