Alphil co-founded the Financial Literacy Counsel (FLC) in 1999 out of a passion and a commitment to “build financially literate generations” through teaching and financial coaching. He teaches financial literacy with a unique emphasis on helping Canadians get their financial houses in order, become retirement ready, and train heirs and beneficiaries to be financially responsible.
FLC’s programs have been taught in settings such as Vancouver Division of Family Practice, UBC Continuing Professional Development (CPD), St George’s School, Vancouver Coastal Health, Canadian Sports Institute (CSI), Hockey Canada, Resident Doctors of BC (RDBC), SFU, and UBC Medicine. Moreover, his team of financial counsellors collaborate with banking, accounting, and legal professionals to provide holistic financial, tax, legal and philanthropic solutions for families, corporations and charitable organizations.
Alphil graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Political Science in 2000. His work experience includes business development and fixed income research at CIBC World Markets as well as portfolio management compliance at RBC Capital Markets.
